For tool hire counters
Tool hire software for a counter that never stops
Hundreds of near-identical tools, short hires and a queue at the desk. This keeps track of which breaker went out with whom, and still gets the next customer served.
Free for 7 days. No card required.
Speed at the desk, detail on the record
Short hires mean volume. Volume means the process has to be quick and still leave a trail worth reading.
-
Scan out, scan in
A barcode or QR label on each tool. Scan a whole trolley onto one hire in a single pass, and back in the same way.
-
Identical tools, separate records
Ten of the same grinder are ten units with their own history. You know which one is out and which one keeps coming back broken.
-
Deposits taken and returned
Hold a deposit against the hire, deduct damage or a missing blade at return, refund the rest without arithmetic on a scrap of paper.
-
Consumables on the same ticket
Discs, blades, fuel and fixings go on the same order as the tool, so staff offer them instead of forgetting them.
-
Contract signed on screen
Your own hire terms, filled from the booking and signed by the customer on a phone or tablet at the counter.
-
Overdue tools, visible
A list of what is late with the customer and the phone number next to it. Chasing takes minutes rather than an afternoon.
Turnaround
Three minutes at the counter, not fifteen
The handover is a fixed sequence: find the customer, scan the kit, take the deposit, photograph the condition, capture a signature. Nothing is retyped and nothing optional gets in the way. A new starter can run it on day two.
- Customer lookup by name or phone
- Items added by scan rather than by typing
- Condition photos at handover and at return
- Payment taken on the same screen
Shrinkage
Small tools go missing quietly
One missing SDS bit is nothing. A hundred a year is a machine you did not buy. Every unit is tied to the hire it went out on and the person who signed for it, so shortages surface at return instead of at stocktake.
- Every unit tied to a hire and a signature
- Shortfall and damage charged to the deposit
- Write-offs recorded rather than absorbed
- Item history exposes repeat offenders
Frequently asked questions
We hire out hundreds of small items. Is barcoding realistic?
It is the part that pays for itself fastest. You print labels once, then handovers become scans instead of typing and stock checks stop being guesswork.
Can customers book tools online?
Yes, through the booking widget on your own website. It shows real availability, so nobody can reserve a saw that is already out on hire.
What does it cost?
Start is $8 a month on annual billing, Business $20 and Pro $35. The seven-day trial does not ask for a card.
Do we need a card machine tied to the software?
No. Payments are recorded against the hire however you take them, and the mobile app lets you take money at the counter or out on a delivery.
Can we hire kits and sets as one item?
Yes. A set that goes out together is booked as one bookable unit, so nobody hires out half of it by accident.
