Baby equipment rental software for hires measured in weeks

A family lands on Friday, wants a cot and a car seat at their hotel by seven, and extends twice before they fly home. Rent in Hand handles the long hire, the delivery run and the cleaning in between.

Baby equipment rental software for hires measured in weeks

Long hires, clean kit, doorstep handovers

This is not counter hire. The equipment is out for weeks, it goes to the customer rather than the other way round, and hygiene is not optional.

  • Hires that run for weeks

Two weeks, a month, a whole summer. The full period is reserved on that specific cot or pram, so a booking taken today cannot land in the middle of a hire that is already running.

  • Nothing goes out uncleaned

Sanitising sits between two hires as real work. Put the unit on a cleaning job when it comes back and the calendar will not offer it again until someone has closed that job.

  • Delivered, not collected

Most handovers happen at a hotel desk or an apartment door. Your driver works from the mobile app: photograph the condition, sign the hire on the screen and take payment on the spot.

  • Car seats have a shelf life

A seat past its expiry cannot go out, whatever the calendar says. Each seat is its own unit with its own card and history, so a seat reaching the end of its life is withdrawn from circulation and stops being offered.

  • Extensions without a new booking

Staying another week is the normal case, not the exception. Extend the dates on the existing hire and record the extra payment against it, rather than creating a second booking that hides the first.

  • Families come back

The client base keeps every hire a family has had, with the addresses and the kit they chose. A repeat booking next summer is a lookup, not a fresh set of questions.

Hygiene

The clean cot problem

Parents assume the cot mattress and the highchair tray have been properly cleaned, and they are right to. The risk is not that you skip it, it is that a piece comes back on Friday evening and is booked out on Saturday morning by someone who did not know it was still in the wash.

  • A unit on a cleaning job is invisible to the calendar and the online widget
  • Cleaning and repair recorded against the unit, with who signed it off
  • Condition photos at every handover and return
  • Per-unit history showing how many hires a mattress or cover has done

Delivery

Seven in the morning at a hotel reception

The delivery run is the business. Several drops across a city, each with a different arrival time, a different building and a different set of kit, and often nobody there but a receptionist. The driver needs the whole hire in their hand, not a printed list.

  • Delivery address and time held on the hire, with the guest's details
  • Mobile app for the driver: scan, photograph, sign and take payment
  • Collection at the end of the stay booked on the same hire
  • Roles and permissions, so drivers see their runs and not your finances

Frequently asked questions

Do hires of several weeks work properly?

Yes. The whole period is reserved on the individual unit, and extensions are made on the existing hire rather than as a new booking.

How is cleaning between customers handled?

The returned unit goes onto a job. While that job is open it is not offered anywhere, and it comes back into circulation only when the job is closed.

Can I manage deliveries to hotels and apartments?

The delivery address and time are part of the hire, and the driver completes the handover in the mobile app with photos, a signature and payment.

What does it cost to start?

Start is $8 per month on annual billing, Business is $20 and Pro is $35. There is a seven-day trial and no card is needed.
